Last week, a team of consisting of volunteers from Last week, a team of consisting of volunteers from #tucanada and Northern Lights Fly Fishers joined forces with volunteer biologists and researchers from MacEwan University. The team traveled to Whitesand River, Yates River, and Little Rapids Creek as well as several other rivers in Northern Alberta. Some sites were only a few kilometers from Wood Buffalo National Park and the Yukon Territories.

The team photographed fish and collected DNA samples which will be used in a research project investigating the Nahanni and Beringia lineages of Arctic Grayling.

Other volunteer angling opportunities for chapter members are still available this summer at Little Smoky River and Rat Creek. Contact grayling@nlft.org for more information.
